Fit Fathers was excited to host the “Social Workout” for Children’s National during their race community kick-off for the 2015 Race for Every Child. The festive afternoon of child’s play, nutritional awareness and fitness routines felt right at home as the historic Glenn Echo Park served as our energizing backdrop.
The Race for Every Child aims to raise $1.2 million for Children’s National this year, and as a signature fundraising event for the hospital, hosts kick-offs for current and potential participants to learn more about the race. The focus of the event is to engage families, friends, secure new runners and walkers and recruit Race teams. Chilli Amar with WASH 97.1 was our special guest while participants highly enjoyed themselves on the bright and sunny Saturday. Activities included:
Pack a picnic and have fun in the park
Giveaways throughout the day
Create a team poster activity
Vendor tables – Fit Kids, Fit Fathers, Costco
Children’s craft table
On-stage workouts lead by Fit Fathers
We hope you can join the Fit Fathers team on October 3rd at Freedom Plaza for the main event. Stay connected to the fundraising movement by visiting www.raceforeverychild.org or joining @ChildrensHealth @FitFathers and #RaceForEveryChild.
