nahjChrysler Group continued its dedication in promoting health and wellness by launching a two part health initiative. The first phase was a 30-day Wellness Challenge with members from the National Association of Black Journalists Detroit and Chicago chapters and National Association of Hispanic Journalists Los Angeles and New York chapters competing to log in the most steps on pedometers for scholarship money. Next, Chrysler Group partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Kaiser Permanente to sponsor health pavilions at the NABJ National Convention in Orlando, FL and the Excellence in Journalism Convention in Anaheim, Cal., which included blood pressure and BMI screenings, nutrition information and exercise tips for journalists to become knowledgeable about health disparities among multicultural communities.
