On the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder …

Goofy’s Family Pool

Whole families can “goof around” in this fantastic pool area that’s perfect for fun in the sun. The Goofy Pool provides fun and relaxation for everyone—guests can kick back in a comfy lounge chair, swim or enjoy one of two whirlpools.

On the Disney Magic, water thrills are found on the AquaDunk, a three-story body slide that begins with a surprise launch. Riders step inside a translucent tube and await the near-vertical launch that takes place when the floor beneath them opens like a trap door. The drop sends guests on an exhilarating, swift and splashy ride in a tube that extends 20 feet over the side of the ship. Guests taller than 48 inches can enjoy the AquaDunk.

Funnel Vision, a jumbo LED screen on Deck 9, shows movies, major sporting events, and enhances outdoor entertainment and deck parties by the Goofy family pool area.

Nearby Pinocchio’s Pizzeria and Goofy’s Galley are convenient for a quick nosh, serving pizza, ice cream treats and frozen yogurt, plus healthy options such as fresh fruit, salads and sandwich wraps.

Deck Parties

0312ZY_0105KP-549x800Deck parties are family celebrations under the sun and stars with daily music, live bands, dancing and Disney characters. Starting with the “Adventures Away” deck party, the ship’s horn blasts the iconic first seven notes of “When You Wish Upon a Star,” signaling the beginning of an incredible voyage.

The Pirates IN the Caribbean deck party is an adventure for everyone. With stunt performers repelling from atop the funnel, an epic battle at sea ensues as the good guys take on the villains. Characters such as Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Captain Mickey, Minnie and Goofy join guests for a raucous good time, complete with music, dancing and a spectacular grand finale—fireworks at sea like only Disney can do!

Live Shows

Broadway-style musicals are presented nightly at the magnificent 977-seat Walt Disney Theater on the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder:

  •  ”Disney Dreams  . . .  An Enchanted Classic” (Disney Magic and Disney Wonder) is a signature Disney Cruise Line show that tells a bedtime story featuring popular Disney characters who together teach a young girl the power of her dreams.
  • “Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story” (Disney Magic) immerses the audience in a story that begins where the original ended and features Cinderella, Prince Charming and other favorites from the original fairy tale classic.
  • “Toy Story—The Musical” (Disney Wonder) is one of the most elaborate musicals ever produced for a cruise ship, bringing the toy-sized adventure of Buzz Lightyear and Woody to life.
  • “Villains Tonight!” (Disney Magic), the first full-scale musical production dedicated to the Disney villains, is a fun-filled musical comedy starring Hades (“Hercules”).
  • “The Golden Mickeys” (Disney Wonder) is an awards-style show celebrating the musical heritage of Disney animated films.

Bookending the theater productions during seven-night and longer Disney Magic and Disney Wonder cruises are the welcome show “All Aboard: Let the Magic Begin” and the farewell show “Remember the Magic: A Final Farewell.” Both musical productions are perfect family fare, one storyline stirring anticipation about the adventure ahead, the other bringing guests together on the final night to remember the magic of their Disney Cruise Line vacation.

0217ZY_0219MS-100x100Walt Disney Theater hosts first-run Disney film premieres, allowing cruisers to enjoy a film’s opening at the same time it’s making its nationwide release on land, as well as first-run features and Disney classics. Buena Vista Theater also shows recent releases and Disney classics.

Both state-of-the-art theaters feature Disney Digital 3-D technology, bringing a whole new dimension of cinematic entertainment to the high seas.

Family Entertainment

Studio Sea (Disney Wonder) and D Lounge (Disney Magic) offer a fun family setting where there is always an abundance of games and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Audience participation game shows entertain and amuse; trivia contests put knowledge of Disney facts to the test; and karaoke nights encourage families to take the stage and sing together—perfect vocal skills not required—it’s all in the name of fun! Dynamic dance parties—where guests can kick up their heels or boogie down with special appearances by favorite Disney characters—are fun for all ages.

Character Breakfasts offer guests aboard the Disney Magic a special way to meet popular Disney characters for pictures, hugs and autographs.

Additional opportunities to meet Disney characters for photos and autographs are scheduled throughout every sailing, and other intimate and spontaneous character moments happen every day.

Castaway Cay Family Beach

Adventure, relaxation and quality time together await families on the pristine, white sandy shores of Castaway Cay. Flying high above the island on a parasail adventure, snorkeling in a 12-acre lagoon, building sand castles on the beach, bicycling around the island or relaxing in a private family cabana are just a few of the activities that every member of the family can enjoy.

Other excursions and activities with family appeal include:

  • Interacting with Southern Stingrays in a private lagoon during a one-hour Stingray Adventure.
  • Snorkeling along a 12-acre snorkel trail dotted with sunken treasures, including a submarine from the classic Disney attraction 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
  • Taking a ride down Pelican Plunge, a 2,400-square-foot floating platform featuring water slides, water cannons and other get-wet fun.
