What a wonderful day we enjoyed this past Saturday at Freedom Plaza in Washington, DC for the Race For Every Child! Over 3,900 participants took part in the energetic and life enhancing run while raising more than $600,000 for Children’s National Medical Center. Hyundai Hope On Wheels was on hand as usual to show support. By far the leading auto brand to help kids fight cancer, Hyundai raises awareness and donates funds for the research of the chronic and degenerative disease. Since 1998 every Hyundai dealer has contributed $14 from the sale of each vehicle to Hope On Wheels for an aggregate total of $72 million to children’s hospitals and organizations nationwide.
The Race for Every Child promoted children’s health and the benefits of running and walking for both children and the community. Most importantly, individuals and teams worked together to raise funds for the hospital by participating directly or by financially supporting someone’s team on Freedom Plaza aka “America’s Main Street.” This community-centered event included:
• 5K family fun run/walk
• Kids’ Dash for those 10 years of age and under
• Family-friendly activities throughout the day
• Live entertainment
• Awards ceremony…and more!
“We would like to thank you for your contribution to the first Race for Every Child in support of Children’s National Health System. At Children’s National, taking care of kids is all we do, and we go to great lengths to ensure that every child, everywhere, has the best chance at a bright future. And that means we provide care for children whether they have a serious illness or injury or just need routine preventive care,” stated the Medical Care Center. “Thank you for joining us in our mission to keep all the children in our community healthy. All money raised through the Race for Every Child will benefit families in our area, across the country, and around the world.”
